Rebelution Summer Vibes Anthem
The Anthem is a very nice spacious venue with clean bathrooms and lots of bars, but there were a number of things that detracted a lot from this event. Father John Misty was great.
The warm up bands played way too long, causing Father John Misty to start at 10:20 and run until past 11:30. Don’t know if this was the venue or the sound guy for this tour. The sub bass was overpowering and severely impaired the clarity of all 3 bands.
The day before the show, the start time was changed to 7pm and the show still didn’t start until 8pm. Taking metro to the Anthem was a plus until we realized the L’Enfant Plaza station we had been directed by the Anthem email to come by closes after the show starts and it is not at all straightforward to follow phone walking directions to another station because of the plaza not having normal streets or lights and this felt quite dangerous in DC at that hour. We had to leave with 6 songs to go to catch metro and still just caught the last train.
The menu in the Anthem is odd with nothing normal on it.
